Meet Meghan!

Meghan Filsinger was born and raised in New York state, where she still lives with her beloved pets. She has bachelor’s degrees in English and in Creative Writing from Canisius College and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University. Writing young adult and children’s stories is where her passion lies. Having grown up with cerebral palsy, she has always been very aware of the lack of disability representation in children and young adult literature. She makes it a priority to include disabled characters in her work because she doesn’t see a reason why a main character can’t be a disabled character.

Meghan loves stories in all forms: books, movies, TV series, and songs. Storytelling is her favorite thing to do. When she’s not reading, watching, listening, or writing stories, she’s adoring any animal she lays her eyes on. The pets in her life have very special places in Meghan’s heart, but there is no animal on earth she doesn’t love.
